§ 31-2708 — Additional powers and duties of Commissioner.

District of Columbia·Title 31 Insurance and Securities.·Ch. 27 Regulation of Casualty and Other Insurance Rates.
(a)In addition to any powers hereinbefore expressly enumerated in this chapter, the Commissioner shall have full power and authority, and it shall be his duty, to enforce by regulations made and promulgated by the Council of the District of Columbia, by orders, or otherwise all and singular, the provisions of this chapter, and the full intent thereof. In particular he shall have the authority and power:
(1)To examine all records of companies and rating organizations and to require any or every company, agent, broker, and rating organization to furnish under oath such information as he may deem necessary for the administration of this chapter. The expense of such examination shall be paid by the company or rating organization examined. In lieu of such examination the Commissioner may,
