Text

As used in this section, the term “employer” means any individual, partnership, corporation or unincorporated association providing group hospital or medical insurance coverage for its employees. Whenever any insurance company, hospital service corporation or medical service corporation authorized to do the business of health insurance in this state declines to continue or renew a health insurance policy or contract issued to an employer because it is ceasing to offer health insurance within this state, the subsequent termination of coverage for such group shall be without prejudice to any claim for maternity benefits made by any employee or dependent covered under such policy or contract who is pregnant on the date of termination of such group coverage, provided such insurance company, ho
