Text

(a)No group health insurance policy providing coverage of the type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of section 38a-469 delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, amended or continued in this state on or after January 1, 2023, that provides coverage for acute inpatient psychiatric services shall require prior authorization for such services that are provided to an insured:
(1)Following the insured's admission to a hospital emergency department;
(2)upon the referral of the insured's treating physician licensed pursuant to chapter 370, psychologist licensed pursuant to chapter 383 or advanced practice registered nurse licensed pursuant to chapter 378 if (A) there is imminent danger to the insured's health or safety, or (B) the insured poses an imminent danger to the hea
