§ 38a-495b — Medicare supplement policies and certificates. Definitions.

(a)As used in sections 38a-473, 38a-474 and 38a-481, subsection (l) of section 38a-495a, sections 38a-495c and 38a-513 and this section, “Medicare” means the Health Insurance for the Aged Act, Title XVIII of the Social Security Amendments of 1965, as amended from time to time (Title I, Part I of P.L. 89-97). For policies or certificates delivered or issued for delivery to any resident of this state who is eligible for Medicare, prior to July 30, 1992, “Medicare supplement policy” means any individual or group health insurance policy or certificate delivered or issued for delivery to any resident of the state who is eligible for Medicare, except any long-term care policy as defined in sections 38a-501 and 38a-528. (b) to delete provision re Medicare supplement plans “A” to “L”, insert “Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services” and make technical changes; P.A. 17-15 made technical changes in Subsec. (a).
