§ 38a-447 — (Formerly Sec. 38-150). Discrimination against persons on the basis of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a victim of domestic violence or erased criminal history record information prohibited.

No life insurance company doing business in this state may:

(1)Make any distinction or discrimination between persons on the basis of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a victim of domestic violence or erased criminal history record information, as defined in section 46a-80a, as to the premiums or rates charged for policies upon the lives of such persons;
(2)demand or require greater premiums from persons of one race, sexual orientation or gender identity than such as are at that time required by that company from persons of another race, sexual orientation or gender identity, or persons who have been victims of domestic violence than such as are at that time required by that company from persons who have not been victims of domestic violence, of the same age, sex, gene

(1949 Rev., S. 6140; P.A. 90-243, S. 170; P.A. 21-32, S. 28; 21-93, S. 2.) History: P.A. 90-243 divided the section into Subsecs., substituted “may” for “shall” and deleted references to specific groups and inserted a general prohibition against discrimination; Sec. 38-150 transferred to Sec. 38a-447 in 1991; P.A. 21-32 added language re erased criminal history record information throughout, added new Subdiv. (3) re greater premiums from persons with erased criminal history record information and redesignated existing Subdiv. (3) as Subdiv.
