§ 32-3 — Duties of department; Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated.

(a)The department shall:

(1)Study and investigate conditions affecting Connecticut industry, business, commerce, agriculture and recreational and residential facilities and prepare and recommend plans for and promote and encourage the preservation, expansion and development of such industry, business, commerce, agriculture and recreational and residential facilities within and without the state;

(2)Prepare and recommend plans for and promote and encourage the location and development of new industry, business, commerce, agriculture and recreational and residential facilities in the state;

(3)Collect, compile and disseminate information relative to the natural and economic resources of the state;

(4)Cooperate with promotional, planning and research groups and associations, with agencie

(a) The department shall: (1) Study and investigate conditions affecting Connecticut industry, business, commerce, agriculture and recreational and residential facilities and prepare and recommend plans for and promote and encourage the preservation, expansion and development of such industry, business, commerce, agriculture and recreational and residential facilities within and without the state; (2) Prepare and recommend plans for and promote and encourage the location and development of new industry, business, commerce, agriculture and recreational and residential facilities in the state; (3) Collect, compile and disseminate information relative to the natural and economic resources of the state; (4) Cooperate with promotional, planning and research groups and associations, with agencies of the state and its political subdivisions and with agencies of the federal government and other states, in the execution of its duties; (5) Furnish technical, secretarial and clerical assistance to organizations when it deems that the giving of such assistance will promote the objects of this chapter. (b) Each officer, board, commission or department of the state government shall assist said department and the corporation in the performance of their duties, and the department and the corporation shall have access to all available information collected by any state agency. The department and the corporation shall assist, as appropriate, other state agencies in their duties upon request and shall make available to them all information collected by them.
