(a)The fee for each long gun eligibility certificate originally issued under the provisions of section 29-37p shall be thirty-five dollars and for each renewal thereof thirty-five dollars, which fees shall be paid to the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection. Upon deposit of such fees in the General Fund, the fees shall be credited to the appropriation to the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection to a separate nonlapsing account for the purposes of the issuance of long gun eligibility certificates under said section.
(b)A long gun eligibility certificate originally issued under the provisions of section 29-37p shall expire five years after the date it becomes effective and each renewal thereof shall expire five years after the expiration date of the ce
