The administrative head of each law enforcement unit, as defined in section 7-291e, shall ensure that each police station, headquarters or barracks under such administrative head's jurisdiction posts in a conspicuous place that is readily available for viewing by the public a statement informing individuals of (1) their right to request and obtain an application to apply for a permit to carry a pistol or revolver, their right to submit an application for a permit to carry a pistol or revolver no more than one week after their request to do so, their right to be informed in writing of the result of their application within eight weeks from its submittal, their right to file an appeal in the event of a denial of a permit for the carrying of a pistol or revolver and an individual's state and
