§ 20-502 — Real Estate Appraisal Commission.

(a)There is created in the Department of Consumer Protection the Connecticut Real Estate Appraisal Commission.
(b)The commission shall consist of eight persons, electors of the state, appointed by the Governor. Five of the members shall be certified appraisers. Three of the members shall be public members. Not more than a bare majority of the commission shall be members of the same political party and there shall be at least one member from each congressional district.
(c)The members of the commission shall serve until the expiration of the term for which they were appointed and until their successors have qualified. Members shall not be compensated for their services but shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. The Governor may remove any

P.A. 03-6 and P.A. 04-169 replaced Department of Consumer Protection with Department of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective July 1, 2004; P.A. 04-189 repealed Sec. 146 of June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6, thereby reversing the merger of the Departments of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective June 1, 2004.
