Not later than July 1, 2007, the Commissioner of Consumer Protection, with the advice and assistance of the appropriate boards established pursuant to section 20-331, shall adopt regulations consistent with sections 20-332 and 21a-7 to establish limited contractor and journeyman gas hearth installer licenses and requisite training requirements regarding hearth product work, as defined in section 20-330. Such regulations shall be adopted by the commissioner in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54. Nothing in this section shall prohibit the holder of an occupational license which allows the performance of gas piping work, gas burner work or gas hearth product work from performing gas hearth product work.
