§ 20-195w — Social Work Licensure Compact.

Connecticut·Title 20 Professional and Occupational Licensing, Certification, Title Protection and Registration. Examining Boards·Ch. 383b Clinical Social Workers and Master Social Workers

The Social Work Licensure Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into by the state of Connecticut with any and all jurisdictions legally joining therein in accordance with its terms. The compact is substantially as follows: SOCIAL WORK LICENSURE COMPACT SECTION 1. PURPOSE The purpose of the compact is to facilitate interstate practice of regulated social workers by improving public access to competent social work services. The compact preserves the regulatory authority of states to protect public health and safety through the current system of state licensure. The compact is designed to achieve the following objectives:

(1)Increase public access to social work services;
(2)Reduce overly burdensome and duplicative requirements associated with holding multiple licenses;
