(a)As used in this section:
(1)“Central service technician” means a person who decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages and sterilizes reusable medical instruments or devices for a health care facility, whether such person is employed by the health care facility or provides services pursuant to a contract with the health care facility;
(2)“Health care facility” means an outpatient surgical facility, as defined in section 19a-493b , or a hospital, as defined in section 19a-490 , but does not include a chronic disease hospital, as defined in section 19a-490 ;
(3)“Health care provider” means a person or organization that provides health care services and is licensed in accordance with this title; and (4) “Central service department” means a department within a health care facility th

(P.A. 15-11, S. 1; P.A. 22-58, S. 6.) History: P.A. 15-11 effective January 1, 2016; P.A. 22-58 made a technical change in Subsec. (a)(1), amended Subsec. (a)(2) by replacing “19a-550” with “19a-490”, amended Subsec. (b) by adding references to International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management's successor organization and replacing “in” with “by” after “central service technician”.
