There shall continue to be a Commission on Uniform Legislation which shall consist of eight members appointed by the Governor, in accordance with the provisions of section 4-9a. Said commission shall examine the subject of marriage and divorce, insolvency, the form of notarial certificates, descent and distribution of property, acknowledgment of deeds, execution and probate of wills and other subjects, on which uniformity is desirable; ascertain the best means to effect uniformity in the laws of the states; represent the state in conventions of like commissions of other states for the consideration and recommendation of uniform laws to be submitted to the several state legislatures for their action and recommend such other course of action as shall best accomplish the purpose of this secti
