Not later than January 1, 2017, and annually thereafter, the Department of Education shall conduct a survey of students participating in minority teacher recruitment programs offered by regional educational service centers or at a public institution of higher education in the state. Such survey shall include questions relating to the components and effectiveness of the minority teacher recruitment program. The department shall report, annually, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a, on the results and findings of the survey to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education.
