§ 27-65-129 — Payment for counsel
In order to provide legal representation to
persons eligible for an attorney pursuant to this article 65, the judicial department
shall pay, out of money appropriated by the general assembly, sums directly to the
appointed attorney on a case-by-case basis or, on behalf of the state, shall pay
lump-sum grants to and contract with individual attorneys, legal partnerships, legal
professional corporations, public interest law firms, or nonprofit legal services
corporations.
