A licensed legal
paraprofessional has a lien for a general balance of compensation upon any papers
of the licensed legal paraprofessional's client that have come into the licensed
legal paraprofessional's possession in the course of the licensed legal
paraprofessional's professional employment and upon money due to the licensed
legal paraprofessional's client in the hands of the adverse party in an action or
proceeding in which the licensed legal paraprofessional was employed from the
time of giving notice of the lien to that party.
