(1)No lands or tenements shall be sold by virtue of any execution unless such sale is at public venue and between the hours of nine in the morning and the setting of the sun on the same day nor unless the time and place of holding such sale has been previously advertised for the space of twenty days, by publishing notices of the time and place thereof in some daily or weekly newspaper printed and published in the county where such lands and tenements are situate or, if there is no such newspaper printed in the county, by posting such notices, printed or written, or partly printed and partly written, in three of the most public places in the county where the lands may be situated specifying the names of the plaintiff and defendant in the execution.
