Text
(1)A municipal judge shall
have the same qualifications as a county judge in a Class D county, as set forth in
section 13-6-203 (3).
(2)Preference shall be given by the municipal governing body, when
possible, to the appointment of a municipal judge who is licensed to practice law in
Colorado or who is trained in the law.
(3)The municipal governing body may appoint a county judge in a Class C or
D county, as defined in section 13-6-203, to serve as a municipal judge.
(4)The municipal governing body may require that the municipal judge be a
qualified elector of the municipality or the county in which the municipality is located.
