As used in this article:
(a)“Acquiring” means obtaining ownership of an existing facility in fee simple for use as a youth center.
(b)“Altering” or “renovating” means making modifications to an existing facility that are necessary for cost-effective use as a youth center, including restoration, repair, expansion, and all related physical improvements.
(c)“Applicant” means
a nonprofit agency that serves youth, including, but not limited to, organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire, Inc., California 4-H Programs, the California Police Activities League, and camping organizations that have been operating in California for a period of not less than two years.
