California·Code WIC Welfare and Institutions Code - WIC·Div. 8.5. DIVISION 8.5. MELLO-GRANLUND OLDER CALIFORNIANS ACT·Ch. 10.5. CHAPTER 10.5. Older Adult Wellness Program·Art. 2.5. ARTICLE 2.5. Campaign to Change Cultural Attitudes Toward and Perceptions of Older Adults
(a)The Legislature requests that the California Department of Aging partner with the Industry Coalition on Age Equity in Media, which is a joint coalition of the California Commission on Aging, Women in Film, and the Employment Development Department, to work with the entertainment industry in an effort to change cultural attitudes and perceptions of aging and older adults, with the goals of making the workplace more receptive to older workers and eradicating ageism in society.
(b)It is the intent of the Legislature, in enacting this act, to generate pervasive, profound, and positive changes in our culture, vision, and attitudes toward aging.
(c)State funds shall not be appropriated for purposes of implementing this section. The department is not required to undertake any new task purs
