§ 5893. — (Repealed (in Sec. 101) and added by Stats. 2023, Ch. 790, Sec. 102.)

(a)In a year that the funds available exceed the amount allocated to counties, the excess funds shall be carried forward to the next fiscal year to be available for distribution to counties in accordance with Section 5892 in that fiscal year.
(b)
(1)All funds deposited into the Behavioral Health Services Fund shall be invested in the same manner that other state funds are invested.
(2)The fund shall be increased by its share of the amount earned on investments.
(c)This section shall become operative on July 1, 2026, if amendments
to the Mental Health Services Act are approved by voters at the March 5, 2024, statewide primary election.
