The Board of Directors of the Tahoe City Public Utility District, the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District, and the Board of Directors of the North Tahoe Public Utility District shall each have the authority to fix and collect an annual standby charge for sewage service on all lands within the district under its jurisdiction, in such amount as the board shall specify, provided that such standby charge for sewage service shall not exceed ten dollars ($10) per acre for parcels in excess of one acre or twenty dollars ($20) per parcel for
parcels less than one acre, unless the standby charge is imposed pursuant to the Uniform Standby Charge Procedures Act (Chapter 12.4 (commencing with Section 54984) of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the Government Code).
