Text
Where, under the provisions of this chapter, a report is filed by a parent of a child with the district attorney averring:
(1)That the other parent has failed to provide necessary support and
(2)That neither the child in need of assistance nor another on his behalf is receiving public assistance, the district attorney shall immediately investigate the verity of such report and determine the defaulting parent’s location and financial ability to provide the needed support, and upon a finding that the report is true shall immediately take all steps
necessary to obtain support for the child in need of assistance.
