Family expense disability insurance is that form of disability insurance insuring more than one person and issued to the head of a family or his spouse indemnifying him, or his spouse, or both, against loss due to disability of one or more persons dependent at the time of issuance upon him, or his spouse, or both, and may include indemnification on account of his own disability and disability of his spouse whether or not either is dependent on the other. Where such a policy provides for payment for expenses incurred, expenses incurred by or upon behalf of any person covered by the policy shall be deemed incurred by the person to whom or at whose direction benefits are payable under the policy.
