Every contract of admission shall meet the requirements of Section 72520 of Title 22 of the California Administrative Code, which requires that the facility offer to hold a bed for the resident in the event the resident must be transferred to an acute care hospital for seven days or less. The facility shall also give the resident, or a representative for the resident, notice of the rights to a bedhold at the time of transfer. The resident or representative for the resident has 24 hours from receipt of notice to request the bedhold. The contract of admission shall state that the facility shall offer the next available appropriate bed to the resident in the event the facility fails to follow this required procedure.
