§ 64800. — 64800. (Added by Stats. 2022, Ch. 661, Sec. 1.)

(a)
The agency, either directly or through qualified voter initiative, may raise and allocate new revenue through all of the following funding mechanisms:
(1)
Special taxes, subject to voter approval, as provided in Article 1 (commencing with Section 64810) of Chapter 2, as follows:
(A)
A parcel tax, as provided in Section 64810.
(B)
A gross receipts business license tax, as provided in Section 64811.
(C)
A documentary transfer tax, as provided in Section 64813.
(2)
The issuance of
bonds, as provided in Article 2 (commencing with Section 64820) of Chapter 2, in accordance with applicable constitutional requirements.
(b)
It is the intent of the Legislature that the funding measures authorized by this subdivision distribute the responsibility for addressing the affordable housing needs of the region across commercial developers, taxpayers, and property owners within the region.
