Text
An association may provide correspondent services primarily to other depository institutions to the extent that the activity does not violate other provisions of law.
(a)An association may maintain a noninterest-bearing account at any institution at which accounts are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, if the account is necessary or incidental to a correspondent relationship.
(b)An association may receive non-interest-bearing deposits from correspondent institutions for use as compensating balances, for
settlement purposes, or for other purposes incidental to a correspondent relationship. These deposits may be payable on demand and subject to withdrawal by negotiable or transferable instrument, order, or authorization. These deposits shall not give rise to voting righ
