(a)The department shall conduct a study to create a framework for cannabis site restoration projects with the goal of providing guidance for the cleanup, remediation, and restoration of environmental damage caused by cannabis cultivation, and shall complete the study by January 1, 2027.
(b)As part of the study, the department shall do both of the following:
(1)Develop recommendations for technologies to address reconnaissance challenges in finding illicit cannabis cultivation on public lands, such as remote sensing technologies and comprehensive statewide mapping capabilities.
(2)Outline steps to create a comprehensive dataset that includes any mapping of illicit cannabis cultivation produced by local, state, or federal agencies, and identify any barriers to developing the compre
