Text
The California Maritime Academy, a specialized institution, is part of the California State University. The primary mission of the academy is to provide instruction in the maritime sciences, engineering, and related fields, including all those necessary to provide the highest quality licensed officers for the United States Merchant Marine and California maritime industries. The trustees may require students to qualify for United States Merchant Marine licenses as a condition of earning a degree.
