(a)The trustees shall adopt regulations for determination of the order in which nonacademic employees shall be laid off for lack of funds or because of lack of work. To the extent the trustees shall deem practical such regulations shall provide for layoff in the inverse order of employment.
The trustees shall adopt rules governing the reemployment of nonacademic employees laid off, pursuant to this section. To the extent the trustees deem practical, such regulations shall include provision that for a period of five years following layoff, an employee shall have a preferential right to reemployment in the same or a comparable position, in the event of a vacancy.
