The third full week in May is designated as Classified School Employee Week. All community colleges shall annually observe that week in recognition of classified school employees and the contributions they make to the educational community. The observances required by this section shall be integrated into the regular community college program. This section shall apply to all colleges under the jurisdiction of any community college district that has adopted the merit system in the same manner and effect as if it were a part of Article 3 (commencing with Section 88060), as well as to colleges under the jurisdiction of any district that has not adopted the merit system.
