The governing board of a community college district may lease property in an adjoining district for garage, warehouse, or other utility purposes or may purchase property in an adjoining district for such purposes and may dispose of such property in the same manner as property within the boundary of the district is purchased and disposed of. The power of eminent domain shall not be applicable and such acquisitions by purchase shall be subject to the approval of the governing board of the community college district in which the property is located.
