(a)Commencing with the 2022–23 academic year, the commission shall identify all foster youth and former foster youth, as defined in subdivision (b) of Section 66025.9, who meet both of the following qualifying criteria for the award year:
(1)The student will receive either a new or renewal Cal Grant A, B, or C award.
(2)The student will attend a University of California campus, California State University campus, California Community College campus, or an independent institution of higher education, as defined in Section 66010.
(b)Individuals identified by the commission as meeting qualifying criteria pursuant to subdivision (a) and who are receiving a Cal Grant A award or Cal Grant B award shall receive a total annual access award not to exceed six thousand dollars (
