Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, a school district qualifying for an adjustment of annual repayment obligations under Section 16025 or 15731 may apply for an apportionment under this chapter. The apportionment shall not exceed the “eligible facilities cost”, as defined in Section 16025 or 15731, and may be made available, upon the review and recommendation of the State Department of Education, only for the modifications of existing facilities necessary for the implementation of continuous school programs (as defined in Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 37600) of Part 22).
