Text

(a)Any person representing himself or herself as a registered dietitian shall meet one of the following qualifications:
(1)Been granted, prior to January 1, 1981, the right to use the term “registered dietitian” by a public or private agency or institution recognized by the State Department of Public Health as qualified to grant the title, provided that person continues to meet all requirements and qualifications periodically prescribed by the agency or institution for the maintenance of that title.
(2)Possess all of the following qualifications:
(A)Be 18 years of age or older.
(B)Satisfactory completion of appropriate academic requirements for the field of dietetics and related disciplines and receipt of a baccalaureate or higher degree from a college or university accredited by the
