For the purposes of this article, “ club” also means any nonprofit property owners’ association having at least 2,500 members. Such an association must have been in existence for at least five years as of October 1, 1975, and must engage in some volunteer action for the community of which it is a part. It shall be unlawful for any club licensed pursuant to this section to make any discrimination, distinction, or restriction against any person on account of such person’s color, race, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, or age.
