(a)Any person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable upon conviction by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six months or by fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by both.
(b)
(1)Notwithstanding subdivision (a), a violation of Section 1281.1 is a public offense and is punishable upon conviction by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both that imprisonment and fine.
