Text

A.The name of a district organized under this chapter shall contain the words "irrigation district" or "water conservation district," and if the district is vested with the power of drainage, it shall also contain the word "drainage."
B.Any district which has in its name the words "irrigation district," may change its name by substituting for the word "irrigation," the words "water conservation" or such other change in name the board of directors deems advisable, other than as specifically provided by this section, by filing with the board of supervisors of the county where the original petition for organization of the district was filed, a certified copy of a resolution of its board of directors adopted by the unanimous vote of all members thereof at a regular meeting of the board.
