A.To qualify as a member as defined in section 38-842, paragraph 31, subdivision (b), a part-time employee shall meet both of the following:
1.Has entered into a written agreement with the employee's employer before July 1, 2031 to work part-time for a period of not more than three years due to a specified qualifying event.
2.Has not worked as a part-time employee for the purposes of this section for more than six years.
B.A part-time employee may not perform off-duty work.
C.For the purposes of this section:
1."Immediate family member" means a child, spouse, parent, grandchild or grandparent.
2."Off-duty work" means being employed as a police officer, state highway patrol officer or county sheriff or deputy by an employer other than the part-time employee's employer pursuant
