A.A hospital that is licensed pursuant to section 36-422 may allow a registered dietitian or other qualified nutrition professional to order diets, enteral feeding, nutritional supplementation or parenteral nutrition if authorized by medical staff pursuant to 42 Code of Federal Regulations section 482.28(b) and if both:
1.The hospital's written policies and procedures allow registered dietitians or other qualified nutrition professionals to issue such orders.
2.The hospital has written policies and procedures that address the hospital's response to adverse events, if any, that arise as a result of orders issued by a registered dietitian or other qualified nutrition professional.
B.For the purposes of this section:
1."Qualified nutrition professional" means a nutrition professional
