Text
The Division of Environmental Quality shall have the power and duty to:
(1)Adopt reasonable rules to effectuate the purposes of this subchapter;
(2)Promote public education and public awareness of the necessity of supporting waste reduction and recyclable material recovery as an integral part of all solid waste and recyclable materials programs in the state;
(3)Provide, to the extent practicable, upon request, to state agencies, planning and technical assistance in carrying out their responsibilities under this subchapter; and (4) Implement, administer, and fund the collection and recycling or collection and disposal of extra-large tires as defined in § 8-9-402 with the advice and assistance of the Compliance Advisory Panel.
