§ 8-8-202 — Text of compact

The Central Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into by the State of Arkansas with any and all states legally joining therein in accordance with its terms, in the form substantially as follows: ARTICLE I. Policy and Purpose The party states recognize that each state is responsible for the management of its nonfederal low-level radioactive wastes. They also recognize that the Congress, by enacting the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy Act (Public Law 96-573), has authorized and encouraged states to enter into compacts for the efficient management of wastes.
