§ 6-64-404 — Policies and practices of medical center

The Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas, the President of the University of Arkansas, and the Chancellor for Health Sciences of the University of Arkansas shall develop and follow appropriate policies and practices at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center which will: (1) Provide for specific limitations on the duration of appointments of academic department and division heads, chairs, deans, associate deans, program directors, and similar academic and administrative positions, with each appointment to such positions to be made for a period of four (4) years, renewable only after thorough assessment of individual performance and attitude of the appointee in relation to the institutional goals of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center and the statewide health labor force needs of the State of Arkansas; and (2) Establish and maintain a medical school curriculum that, beginning with the freshman year, will provide appropriate courses specifically designed to encourage and support the educational goals of those students interested in an appropriate education for and establishment of a family medicine practice or general practice of medicine.
