Text

(a)Every public school in Arkansas shall:
(1)Identify eligible students under this subchapter using the results from college and career readiness assessments under the Arkansas College and Career Readiness Planning Program, § 6-15-441 [repealed]; and (2) (A) Provide the counseling required under subsection (b) of this section.
(B)The public school shall make every reasonable effort to involve parents or guardians in student counseling and placement of students.
(b)A public school counselor serving students in any of grades eight through eleven (8-11) shall:
(1)Counsel and strongly encourage each student enrolled in grades eight through eleven (8-11) who is identified through college and career readiness assessments as not meeting the college and career readiness benchmarks in mathemat
