(a)(1) To prepare students for choosing a career option at the high-school level, in grades six through eight (6-8), each public school district and open-enrollment public charter school shall incorporate career awareness and exploration activities that expose students to career and technical and academic fields of study, which may include without limitation the following:
(A)Field trips;
(B)Guest speakers;
(C)Community services;
(D)Dedicated curricula; and (E) Other activities designed to introduce students to occupations that are found to be in demand in Arkansas.
(2)The State Board of Education shall determine the minimum number and type of activities required under subdivision (a)(1) of this section.
