§ 6-15-1004 — Qualified teachers in every public school classroom - Definition

Arkansas·Title 6
(a)(1) Arkansas teachers shall demonstrate competency in subject matter content and knowledge of teaching methods that are appropriate to their teaching area in order to be granted a license to teach in the state under rules promulgated by the State Board of Education.
(2)Arkansas teachers shall demonstrate competency as required under subdivision (a)(1) of this section by:
(A)Obtaining passing scores on assessments approved by the state board; or (B) Successfully completing a Division of Elementary and Secondary Education Alternate Assessment Plan that includes without limitation:
(i)Measures of growth in student academic performance that are based on value-added growth model data, when available, over a period of three (3) years; or (ii) Other measures as permitted by state board rul
