Text

(a)There is created a Division of Higher Education.
(b)(1) The executive head of the Division of Higher Education shall be the Commissioner of the Division of Higher Education.
(2)The commissioner shall be appointed by the Governor and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor.
(3)The commissioner shall report to the Secretary of the Department of Education.
(c)The Division of Higher Education shall consist of the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board and any other divisions that may be created by law and placed under the Division of Higher Education.
(d)(1) The commissioner, with the advice and consent of the Governor, and the Secretary of the Department of Education, shall appoint the heads of the respective divisions.
