§ 23-12-601 — Trains to run on regular schedule - Accommodations for passengers - Damages for noncompliance

(a) Every railroad corporation shall start and run their cars for the transportation of passengers and property at regular times, to be fixed by public notice. (b) (1) Every railroad corporation shall furnish sufficient accommodations for the transportation of all passengers and property as shall, within a reasonable time previous thereto, offer or be offered for transportation at the place of starting and the junctions of other railroads, and at sidings and stopping places established for receiving and discharging way passengers and freight. (2) The railroad corporation shall take, transport, and discharge such passengers and property at, from, and to such places on the due payment of tolls, freight, or fare legally authorized therefor. (c) In case of the refusal of the corporation, or its agents, to take and transport any passenger or property or to deliver the passenger or property, or either of them, at the regular or appointed time, the corporation shall pay to the party aggrieved all damages which shall be sustained thereby, with the costs of suit.
