Text

(a)(1) A position authorized as extra help in a state agency shall be assigned an authorized classification by the agency, and any person hired in an extra help position shall meet the minimum qualifications and any other requirements set by the official class specification of the classification assigned to the position.
(2)The rates of pay for extra help employees shall be set in accordance with and shall not exceed those provided in this subchapter, or its successor, for the appropriate classification.
(3)Extra help employees of state agencies shall not exceed one thousand five hundred (1,500) hours per fiscal year as set out in § 19-4-521 .
