§ 20-77-2501 — Purpose

The purpose of this subchapter is to:

(1)Consolidate staff and other Medicaid fraud detection, prevention, and recovery functions from the relevant governmental entities into a single office;

(2)Create a more efficient and accountable structure;

(3)Reorganize and streamline the state's process for detecting and combating Medicaid fraud and abuse; and (4) Maximize the recovery of improper Medicaid payments.
